Terms of Use
These Terms form an agreement between you and OpenFlow ("OpenFlow," "we," "us," or "our") when you visit openflows.app, create an account, download, install, purchase, or use the OpenFlow application or related services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you use OpenFlow for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for it.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding your credentials and license key, and activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@openflows.app if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share passwords or publish license keys.
2. The software and system requirements
OpenFlow provides on-device speech-to-text, text processing, and related productivity features for supported Windows computers. Performance and model availability depend on your hardware, operating system, microphone, language, and configuration. Recognition and generated output may contain errors. Review important output before relying on, publishing, or sending it—especially for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other high-impact purposes.
3. Trial and license grant
New accounts may receive the trial shown in the app. Trial features, length, and availability may change or be withdrawn where permitted by law. After the trial, a paid license is required to continue using paid functionality.
When you purchase a license, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to install and use OpenFlow on the number of devices included with the purchased plan. This is a license to use the software, not a sale of the software or its intellectual property. A one-time purchase does not create a recurring subscription. It covers the version and features offered with that purchase, plus updates we choose to provide; it does not guarantee every future product, platform, or major paid upgrade.
4. License restrictions and acceptable use
You may not:
- resell, sublicense, rent, publish, share, or commercially distribute a license key except where your plan expressly permits shared organizational use;
- circumvent trials, activation, device limits, security controls, or technical restrictions;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Services except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits;
- use the Services to violate law, infringe rights, introduce malware, abuse infrastructure, or gain unauthorized access; or
- misrepresent OpenFlow output as error-free or suitable for a regulated or safety-critical decision without independent human review.
You retain responsibility for what you dictate, create, process, or send using OpenFlow and must have any permissions required for recording or processing speech.
5. Purchases and taxes
Prices, currency, included devices, and applicable taxes are displayed before purchase. Payment is handled by the payment provider identified at checkout; we do not store full payment-card details. You authorize that provider to process the one-time charge. License delivery may depend on successful payment and fraud checks. We may correct obvious pricing errors before fulfillment or offer cancellation and a refund.
6. Refunds and consumer cancellation rights
We offer a voluntary 14-day refund period from purchase. Contact support@openflows.app with the purchase email and reason. We may ask you to deactivate the license. Refunds go to the original payment method and may take additional processing time.
If you are a consumer, mandatory rights under the law where you live remain unaffected. This includes any legal remedies for digital content that is faulty, not as described, or not supplied. Where the law provides a withdrawal right for immediately delivered digital content, checkout may ask for your express consent to begin supply and your acknowledgment that this can affect that right. Our voluntary refund policy does not reduce any longer or stronger right the law gives you.
7. Updates, availability, and third-party components
OpenFlow may check for and install software, model, compatibility, and security updates. Back up important local data before major changes. We may change or discontinue features, integrations, or hosted services, but will not intentionally remove a paid core entitlement without a reasonable operational or security reason. Internet-dependent features—including account access, activation, downloads, and updates—may occasionally be unavailable.
The Services may include open-source software and rely on third-party platforms. Their own licenses or terms may apply. Third-party services are responsible for their own systems and availability.
8. Intellectual property and feedback
OpenFlow and its licensors retain all rights in the Services, branding, design, code, and documentation. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you. You keep ownership of your content. If you voluntarily submit feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation, but we will not publish personally identifying feedback as a testimonial without permission.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using OpenFlow and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or revoke access or a license obtained through fraud, chargeback, leaked or resold keys, security abuse, or a material breach of these Terms. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions that by nature should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—will survive.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, perfect transcription, compatibility with every device or application, or that output will meet every purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenFlow will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for lost profits, revenue, business, data, or opportunities arising from the Services. Our aggregate liability relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for OpenFlow during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$50. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights.
12. Changes and governing rules
We may update these Terms for legal, security, operational, or product reasons. We will post the revised date and, for material changes affecting existing users, provide reasonable notice where practicable. Changes apply prospectively. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where OpenFlow is established, without depriving consumers in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or elsewhere of mandatory protections or access to courts available where they live. Before filing a dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
13. Indemnity for business use
If you use OpenFlow on behalf of a business, and to the extent permitted by law, that business will defend and indemnify OpenFlow against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs resulting from its unlawful content, infringement of another person's rights, misuse of the Services, or material breach of these Terms. This section does not apply to individual consumers acting outside a trade or profession.
14. Export controls and sanctions
You may not use, export, or make the Services available in violation of applicable export-control, trade-sanctions, or import laws. You confirm that you are not prohibited from receiving the Services under laws that apply to you or to OpenFlow.
15. General legal terms
Neither party is responsible for delay caused by events reasonably beyond its control. We may assign this agreement as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the Services; consumers retain any mandatory rights. You may not transfer your license or this agreement without our written approval. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the purchase terms shown at checkout are the entire agreement about the Services and replace earlier discussions on the same subject.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how OpenFlow acts as controller of personal data processed through the Services. It does not cover data independently processed by third-party websites or apps in which you use dictation.
1. Local processing
Microphone audio is recorded temporarily and processed by the speech model on your device. OpenFlow deletes the temporary recording after transcription, including after a processing failure; a crash may leave a temporary file that the app removes at its next launch. Dictated text, history, dictionary entries, snippets, notes, preferences, and downloaded models are stored locally unless you deliberately export, move, sync, paste, or otherwise share them. We do not receive microphone audio or dictated text through the OpenFlow service.
2. Data we process
- Account data: email address, profile name, authentication records, and account identifiers.
- Purchase and license data: purchased plan, payment status and provider references, license identifiers, activation state, device identifier, and fraud or support records. The payment provider—not OpenFlow—handles full card details.
- Service and security data: request metadata, IP address and server logs generated when you access our website or backend, app and operating-system version, and information needed to prevent abuse and diagnose failures.
- Optional analytics: if enabled, product events such as feature names, counts, durations, plan, and coarse device/app information. These events must not include audio, dictated text, file contents, license keys, passwords, or clipboard contents.
- Communications: feedback, support messages, and information you choose to include. Exit feedback may include a selected uninstall reason, satisfaction rating, optional email, and optional app diagnostics you expressly choose to attach.
3. Why we use data and our legal bases
- to create accounts, deliver purchases, activate licenses, provide updates, and support users—necessary to perform our contract;
- to secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain reliability, and improve non-content product behavior—our legitimate interests;
- to satisfy accounting, tax, consumer, and lawful-request obligations—compliance with law; and
- for optional analytics or marketing where applicable—your consent, which you may withdraw.
Where we ask for data needed to provide an account, purchase, or activation, not supplying it may prevent us from providing that feature. We do not sell personal data or use dictated content for advertising or AI-model training.
4. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers only as needed to operate OpenFlow, including Supabase for account, database, and licensing infrastructure; Cloudflare for website delivery, downloads, traffic protection, and related hosting; and the payment provider displayed at checkout for payment processing. We may also use an email delivery provider for transactional messages. Providers process data under their own terms and/or our instructions. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect users and the Services, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or asset transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
5. International transfers
Providers may process information outside your country. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Provider privacy notices contain more detail about their locations and safeguards.
6. Retention
We keep account and license data while your account or license remains active and for a reasonable period afterward to provide support, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. Purchase and transaction records may be retained as required by tax and accounting law. Security logs and optional analytics are retained only as reasonably necessary for security and product operation. Support communications are kept while relevant to the request and legal obligations. We delete or anonymize data when it is no longer needed. Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall/reset OpenFlow; uninstalling may preserve app data unless you remove it separately.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted transport, access controls, signed license tokens, restricted privileged credentials, and abuse protection. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or data has been compromised.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal data, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise a right, email support@openflows.app; we may need to verify your identity. You can manage optional analytics in the app. Account deletion does not automatically remove local data from your computer.
9. Children
OpenFlow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Where local law requires parental consent at a higher age, users below that age should use the Services only with valid consent. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal data improperly.
10. Cookies and local storage
The website may use essential browser storage or cookies to maintain authentication, security, and checkout state. We do not use dictated content for tracking. If we add non-essential advertising or analytics cookies, we will request consent where required.
11. Contact
For privacy requests, refunds, support, or questions about these terms, email support@openflows.app. We aim to acknowledge privacy requests promptly and respond within the period required by applicable law.
